At this point it is worth considering the Ashford JOY double treadle spinning wheel as an alternative if one is considering spinning yarns on the thicker side ( or even the Traveller model). The Joy comes assembled, with the carry bag, 4 speeds and the options of jumbo flyers (Freedom flyer) is more economical than the Kiwi Superflyer. Ashford no longer make a 'normal' jumbo flyer for the Kiwi. Not after a carry bag and only spinning to around 8ply, then yes, the Kiwi may well suit.
The new Kiwi 3 has folding treadles, timber veneered MDF wheel, three speed whorl and a wooden threading hook!

A jumbo flyer (the SuperFlyer) will cost upwards of $425 (lacquered). Ashford do not make a 'standard' jumbo flyer for this wheel.
A SuperFlyer bobbin will cost over $45 (lacquered), the standard jumbo bobbins will not fit
