Double Treadle Kit - Ashford Traditional Spinning Wheel

Change your single treadle Traditional wheel to double treadle. Using both feet doubles the energy and encourages the spinner to sit directly in front of the wheel, which is good for the body posture and balance. The cranks are offset 10 degrees so you can start the wheel in either direction without using your hands. The kit includes a new crank and conrod joints.

This kit suits Traditional wheels, both single drive and double drive which both have a single treadle as standard initially from the factory - do not confuse drive system with the number of treadles!

How can I tell if my Traditional Wheel will accept the double treadle conversion kit?

To identify if it will fit, the front treadle timber rail should be 19 3/4" long. Earlier models (pre 1972) were about 2" longer.
